Ben Burtt (former ILM Skywalker Sound and "father" of the lightsaber) talks to the R2 Builders Club at C4. Ben also mentions in his talk how he was impressed with Jim Shima (of Hyperdyne Labs) for inventing the interactive light saber performance tool. This is certainly one of our shining moments, as Ben has been one of our idols and influences over the years.
