Still images from the 1960's thru 2005 of Seattle and Auburn, WA. The Seattle Obon in the early 1960's was usually on July 30th weekend..now its usually lands on the 15th- a saturday and sunday event. White River Buddhist Temple in the city of Auburn, is the following saturday. it's more relaxed and is on flat ground, u can see Mt Rainier in the distance (Mt.Fuji of the Northwest). The old photos were taken by my brother Yuki, he was a photograper for the Seattle Times newspaper and did a feature on Obon. THe color shots are mine.
